the nervous jitters, quivering lips and tears.  the hesitant walk to his lap while keeping a firm grasp on mamas leg.  the chubby hand that wrapped around just a single weathered finger.  the talks about nail color, wishes and elves, sweet kisses on the cheek and tiny voices reading endless lists written all on their own.  the silliness, the corniness, the warmth, the love.  the spirit of christmas, friends, was upon us.  it was beautiful and moving and full of magic and love.
